1:00 PM to 5:00 PM

Start your holiday shopping at Jerome’s Carmel Valley Market, 2 Chambers Lane, Carmel Valley. On Friday, Nov. 15 you will have a chance to taste and purchase award-winning Chocolat Bonnat, sample a variety of cheeses from the Swiss Alps and find out about the cheesemakers in the Adopt-an-Alp program and meet a representative from Claude Dozorme, the company handcrafting the famous Laguiole knives in France for more than a century.

Chocolat Bonnat is the oldest artisan producer of chocolate in the world. Since 1884, Bonnat has been nurturing its relationship with cocoa growers around the world and educating the palate of those who became connoisseurs. Producing around 100 tons per year, Bonnat is the first chocolate maker to create single-origin and single-estate chocolate bars. They have only two boutiques, one in Voiron and a newly opened store in Paris. Today, the small town of Voiron, near the French Alps, is considered a Mecca for chocolate lovers. Flagship products of Maison Bonnat are honoured with the highest international awards.
Adopt-an-Alp unites dairy farmers in Switzerland, where transhumance originated over 8,000 years ago, with cheese lovers around the world and helps keep this tradition alive. Jerome’s Carmel Valley Market has adopted an Alp and will be offering a wide variety of cheeses from this Alp to its customers throughout the season. Learn the story of each family as they work toward producing their Alpage cheeses. This is a unique opportunity to support farmers, learn about their everyday life on the Alp and be rewarded with spectacular Alpage cheeses.
Maison Claude Dozorme is one of the most prestigious French coutelleries. They have been crafting knives since 1902, including the famed Laguiole knives with the iconic bee. A representative from the company will display beautiful steak knives, pocket knives, cheese knives, corkscrews and even Champagne sabers, which can be purchased or special ordered and personalized with an engraving in time for the holidays.
